Geode 1 represents a waypoint in Silk’s year-long journey investigating the use of foaming agents in cast glass; exploring texture and incorporating colour.
With a background as a Professional Engineer, Roger Silk has been thoroughly engrossed in exploring the Physics and Chemistry of making glass foam, whilst becoming obsessed with the (at times) frustrating alchemy of developing colour in glass that foams.
Geode 1 represents the latest point that Silk has reached, to date, in his foam glass journey.
