Jo Guile, a visual artist who recently completed her education at the Royal College of Art, and works in various mediums, including installation and sculpture. Her practice involves using glass techniques such as blown, cast, and flame-worked glass to manipulate and reshape light in site-specific or stand-alone works.
Jo develops plaster blow moulds, which have been taken from Alginate casts of the ground. With Elliot’s help, she then captures the surface details in Blown glass. Jo Guile then finishes the work with mirroring chemicals.
Jo showcased the making of this piece at our Turn up the Heat event, and she has generously donated it to this auction to support GLAS (Glass Legacy Association Stourbridge). 50% of this auction’s proceeds will be donated to GLAS, and 50% will be donated to the artists.
