Echinus- Katherine Huskie
Echinus- Katherine Huskie
by Katherine Huskie£1,500.00
The Echinus series came from my love of manipulating hot glass and the tactile qualities of it. They are inspired by Sea Urchin shells. I am fascinated by how every shell is different and how nature has created such beautiful patterns. They have a texture that draws the viewer in and this is something I wanted to harness in my glass, balancing out the want to touch with the fragility.
Katherine has always been interested in pattern, whether within nature, textiles or geometry. She is passionate about manipulating hot glass in order to draw in a viewer and inspire them to interact with the artwork, and is always searching for new influences to see how she can include the patterns in hot glass.
