Into the Deep - Juliet Forrest

Juliet Forrest regards herself first and foremost as a fine artist who has fallen in love with glass. She produces intricate and rich stained glass artworks using a variety of methods, both traditional and contemporary. Primarily self-taught, she is unhindered by traditional conventions and will use any combination of techniques to realise her vision. Forrest’s inspiration comes from a variety of sources, a love of the natural world is evident, but wider influences of science, science fiction, the general marvel of existence, and the glorious beauty of glass underpin her work. This piece utilises fusing, painting and engraving techniques in order to achieve its 3D and tactile design that invites its viewer into an underwater world.
