Sacha’s works in glass are a fusion of art and science, drawing inspiration from the complexity of molecular structures. Each piece is a testament to the beauty found in the microscopic world, translated into tangible, three-dimensional forms.
The Sculptures are made using traditional glassblowing techniques to create multiple components, all of them are then coldworked and UV bonded together.
‘Molecular Anomaly’ was recently exhibited as part of the 2024 British Glass Biennale.
About the artist
Sacha Delabre
Sacha Delabre’s story starts on an apple farm in the French Alps, where he grew up.
After diving into cabinet making at age 18, he went over to England’s northeast to work for the renowned British artist Antony Gormley and signed up for an Art Foundation course at Newcastle College. It was here that Sacha stumbled into the world of ceramics, which eventually nudged him towards studying Glass and Ceramics at Sunderland University.
