This piece is an early example of Elliot’s Still Life series, which focuses on the contrasts of texture and colour. Each unique component is meticulously crafted from glass. While the artist has a specific vision for how these pieces should be displayed, Walker encourages individuals to rearrange them as they see fit. The components are shipped separately, requiring assembly to create the final artwork.
Walker combines exceptional glassmaking skills with a novelist’s talent for storytelling, literally sculpting glass into artworks that evoke curiosity and draw the viewer closer.
His Still Life compositions have the grace of classical paintings. They intricately balance symbols of domestic life with elements of transience. Elliot Walker
I am a sculptor working with molten glass as my primary medium. I studied glass making in the Historic Glass Quarter, Stourbridge, where I developed my basic skills that are the essential foundation for creating works in this challenging medium.
