Sacha Delabre’s story starts on an apple farm in the French Alps, where he grew up.
After diving into cabinet making at age 18, he went over to England’s northeast
work for the renowned British artist Antony Gormley and signed up for an Art Foundation course at Newcastle College. It was here that Sacha stumbled into the world of ceramics, which eventually nudged him towards studying Glass and Ceramics at
Sunderland University.
After graduating, Sacha spread his wings at The Glass Hub, teaching glass beginners
for a year before moving on to work with international glass artists Philip Baldwin and Monica Guggisberg. Here, he has been immersed in hot and cold glass, soaking up skills such as Swedish overlay and incalmo techniques in the
hot-shop along with a vast pallet of Italian cutting techniques.
